GIGA TV: Warsow guide on Wednesday

German TV station GIGA is hosting a Warsow guide over 4 weeks. GIGA crew member jan and warsownews.net host lokirulez will tell you all you need to know about setting up Warsow, learning the basics and getting better on four shows in June 2007.
The german TV station GIGA (II) will host 4 shows for people interested in Warsow. The show is called GIGA eSports insight and is airing every Wednesday at 6pm CET on GIGA II and in the following night on GIGA I (free tv) at midnight. We got all the infos and links of the shows for you (updated weekly shortly after the show).

What's Warsow?
Warsow is a free standalone first person shooter game for Windows and Linux. It is based on the Qfusion 3D engine (a modification of the Quake 2 GPL engine), and aimed on the competitive scene, or the e-sports community. More infos: http://www.warsow.net/?page=concept.
Where to download?
Download Warsow on the warsow.net download page. The game only weights 80mb. As soon as you downloaded the .zip file, just unpack using Winzip or WinRAR to a directory of your choice and double-click warsow.exe.
Setting up Warsow
player-setup
Choose "setup" from the main menu and specify your player name in "player setup". You can change your model there, too.
controls
Choose "keyboard controls" and specify the keys you want to use. Very imporant: forward, back, left, right, jump, shoot (left mouse key) and dash (right mouse key). Furthermore, direct bind the weapons near your keys. I use U-H-J-K for movement and have riotgun on ".", grenade launcher on "l", plasma gun on "g", rocket launcher on "o", laser gun on "8" and electrobolt on "i".
Choose "controller options" to set you mouse (sensitivity, invert mouse).
graphics
You can set your maxfps and fov here. I suggeswt maxfps to 125 and fox to a value between 110 and 120.
Weapons
Just start a server, map wdm2 and gametype dm. Join the game with F3 or "ESC - Join" and move thru the map and fire the different weapons. There are weapons and ammo packs in the map. When you pickup a weapon you get weak ammo with it. Collect ammo packs to make the weapons stronger and enhance their handling.
Movement Lessons 0 (Dash and Wall jump)
Use the dash and a direction key to move quickly into this direction. Start every run with a dash to gain speed, then use jump and your strafe keys to gain more speed. Do a walljump by jumping to a wall and press the special (dash) key. You can jump over huge gaps with that or is it for turnarounds.
