3. Gametypes

Most gametypes stay the same (duel, tdm, ca) but there is new stuff for the CTF players and the instagibbers.

CTF
There have been a lot of discussions about CTF. "Timer yes/no? The team who has the best fastcapper wins. Lack of teamplay." You name it. The dev team sticks to the timer system but they change it to controlling the flag spot instead of having a timer counting down when you run away with the flag. I quote nip from the dev blog:

So what you need to do is: when you attack, you need to be able to secure the flag spot (or a small area around it) for 2 seconds, after that you'll be able to pick up the flag. Then you can take as long as you want to get to your base, but once there, you need to control YOUR flag spot, for another 3.5seconds (time is likely to change/be settable).

This means the offense needs to move into enemy base together to only get the flag. Then your defense needs to keep your own base clear to ensure you can bring the flag home safely and stay still on your own flag point. A bit more complicated but it allows more depth in gameplay and both offense and defense get new tasks.

iTDM
What is iTDM? You have only the new instagib gun (instagun) and the classic TDM maps with control points instead of powerups (I'm pretty sure new maps will be built as soon as 0.4 gets released). This is how it works (explanation again by nip):

Teams that control a certain zone, get one point per x amount of seconds per captured zone. A zone is set by the mapper, every zone has it's proper icon/3d mark.



You'll love it. It merges all you love about a fast and fun game like Warsow. It's very accessible (only one gun), you can quickly gain points and you explore the TDM maps. It will really help news players to get used to movement and team up, even on public gaming. The concept is pretty much straight forward and everything you need to win is visual to you on the map and in your HUD.

As you can see in the video every team has its own instagun color which is the same as the team color.

Duel Arena
Duel Arena is basically ClanArena 1v1 with a challenger queue. Two players fight until one of them wins 10 rounds. More players can join and wait for their chance to play. The mod is coded by soh#danlin and 50u15pec7a70r already released a bunch of maps for it. You start with 100/100 and all weapons and some strong ammos.

Find Duel Arena under Gametypes. I just forgot to add it to the article structure.
