North American player THRESHER released the good ol' rocketish mode midair. Using the gametype scripting engine Warsow offers since 0.5 this gametype is accepted well by the community and a small cup was already held.
Midair
Shooting someone who's currently in the air with a rocket (grenades are welcome, too) is called "midair". Some people consider these shots as the most "skillful" frags you can do and therefore midair frags are widely seen in frag movies. Doing midairs requires timing and prediction.
What happens in normal games from time to time is brought to the crowd exclusively in the gametype midair. Two players meet in one big box and try to boost each other up by shooting rockets to the feet. When you get fragged midair you spawn near the skybox so the other player gets an "easy" shoot as a reward.
Midair for Warsow
THRESHER released his gametype plugin a few weeks ago on warsow.net. You can play it on crizis' servers by voting "callvote gametype midair". You have three different aircontrol settings available, where 0 is no aircontrol, 1 is basewsw setting and 2 is a mix of both.
THRESHER is acticely developing his gametype plugin and adding features and maps from time to time. Go check the thread for the latest downloads. Thanks to the gametype engine you can connect to the server and play straightaway.

In a 10 players quick cup held on Tuesday, 23th of September midair was played under semi-competitive circumstances.
